Uh oh, looks like someone's letting homework pile up again!
Homework Arena was our team's answer to the Ubisoft Game Lab 2022's theme: the student experience. Homework Arena takes a memorable part of school, like being swamped by a load of homework, and turns it into an action game with a big focus on team competition. This year, I played the role of the lead artist, keeping track of my teams progress and participating in weekly scrums with the other leads to stay on track, as well as the 3D animator. I was happy to play more of a lead role this year, learning to manage a team as well as doing more thorough asset integration into Unity was definitely a great learning experience about the video game production pipeline.
Homework Arena ended up being a double award winner this year, bringing back "Best User Experience" as well as "Best Technical Challenge and Innovation"! Other nominations for Homework Arena also include: "Best Creativity and Theme Integration", "Best 3Cs" and "Best Prototype". Developing this game was definitely challenging while working on a second game production, but that didn't stop our team from delivering an excellent product!
